The complexity and tension in this song are meant to portray the attempt to find life's satisfaction through power, work and the manipulation of nature. The repeating five beat rhythm pattern in the song generates a sense of imbalance. In the mythology the number five represents desire, conflict, breakdown, chaos, storm and stress.

In Dynasty Falls, Mia is creating a language which imitates the sound of classical Beijing Opera but is not bound to the actual words. She uses the sound of the language but not the literal words or meanings.

Another source of inspiration for The Wheel of Life are Tarot cards, an ancient mystical source of information of unknown origin. The Tarot could also be called the Book of Life, with each card representing one of the facets or experiences a human being will pass through in the journey towards their true self. If Dynasty Falls had a tarot card it would be The Tower Destruction which symbolizes our ego falling from a high place,

This perspective of seeing all experience as an opportunity for transformation inspires the music of A Moving Sound with each composition being an out-picturing of an internal state. The process of mining the depths our inner world, and expressing it in music and pictures, symbolizes the transformation of human consciousness. Years of practice with tarot cards and other healing arts has influenced Scott and Mia’s view of the function of art and its intimate parallel with the creative spiritual process called Life.
